Within the software development and website maintenance, Analysts fill a very important role within the QA department. They work with test plans using company’s formats and templates to improve the final product. During and after the test plan execution they report results to programmers and developers. With this info they improve the test plan or create new test plans. Creating test plans include reviewing the test environment and matching test data to that environment.

Analysts know software automation tools and rational tools. They use these tools to ensure proper software operation and performance. In addition they may need to know integration testing, regression testing, user acceptance testing, black box testing, web based tools, and web architecture.

QA Analyst jobs include reviewing requirements, specifications, functions, performance, reliability, usability, testability, scalability, and security within the software. They analyze quality assurance metrics and track defects, defect counts, test results and test results.

Depending on the specific job, analyst may train end users of the application. They support customer service by providing technical support to customers.

In addition, analyst document software features. They assist in creating online documentation and manuals.
Quality Assurance Analyst special projects include investigating problems involving internal and external issues. They isolate these problems, recommend solutions and work with the software engineers to correct the issue. They track these problems and verify their correction.
